2019 – 2020 targets higher admissions which could produce an ITA record in the New Year.
The Express Entry system in Canada had great results for applicants in 2018, and next year could be even more exceptional.
Express Entry, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three highly qualified federal immigration programs, issued a record 89,800 invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada in 2018, the most issued in a single year since the introduction of Express Entry in January 2015.
The previous record of 86,023 Invitations to Apply (ITA) was established in 2017 and, like this record, it seems likely that the 2018 ITA total will be exceeded once again by the end of the New Year.
Under Canada’s multi-year immigration plan, the goal of admission through the three programs administered by the Express Entry system (Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Qualifying Operations Class (FSTC) and Class) of Canadian Experience (CEC)) is set to Increase 2019 by 6,500. It will rise again in 2020, for another 4,400.
In order to meet the increased admission targets for the FSWC, the FSTC and the CEC, it is likely that the number of ITAs issued will also increase
